Introduction:
The role of CIO is involved in group-wide initiatives like CX, Architecture, Marketing and Customer Service. Manages an IT budget fo R 32M.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- IT Strategy
- Formulate and execute the IT strategy to meet the business and stakeholder requirements within IT, Operations, Marketing, Product, and Sales, through innovation, modernisation, operational efficiency, and solution rationalisation. IT Strategy is aligned with the group vision for enriched client engagement.
- IT Management
- Management and implementation of IT & Information governance, reporting to X cluster board & Group Technology IT board, and stakeholder collaboration at executive level
- Financial management for defining and tracking the IT budget internally and at external IT partners
- Team guidance on priorities, management reporting on IT functions, escalations, and standby servicing; with direct involvement with internal and external partners pertaining to critical incidents
- IT Operations
- Oversight of IT incident management, file and job monitoring, web platforms, database, and API platforms for internal and at external partners; team knowledge management, and solution enhancement delivery
- IT Service Delivery
- Oversight of technical monitoring & controlling activities to ensure acceptable service delivery to members in terms of the availability and responsiveness of the technical solution architecture; including regular SLA meeting with partners to manage and improve service delivery
- Oversight of business continuity and disaster recovery management and simulated exercises internally and at external partners
- IT Data Delivery
- Oversight and facilitation of data access, operational and analytical reporting to meet the requirements of business performance, marketing campaigns and surveys
- IT Project Delivery
- Business owner on project delivery to manage partner contracting, cost models, value proposition, and overall relationship management
- Functional owner for oversight of all technical aspects and operational readiness for any solution that gets implemented into production
- Technical oversight of solution architecture, for alignment with strategy and business objectives
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (Masters Degree preferred)
- 15-20 years in technology, 5-7 years in senior/executive management in a similar role
- Technology strategy definition and execution
- IT Operations & Service Delivery Management
- Solutions and Data Architecture, including, application technologies, web, mobile, API technologies, integration technologies, application security, systems and platforms
- Governance management and reporting
- Budget and finance management
- Business domain knowledge (loyalty, financial services, insurance) in the context of technology innovation
